Flexibility is an asset that exists within UNESCO-IHE.

So far what have been the highlights of your study?
I did not plan water but I found myself steered into it and enjoyed the challenge. Delft is the best place in the NL. No traffic no stress and a great place to study. Also the highlight of my program here has been the social dimensions of water; it has been nice to move from the pure technical engineering to a world where applications have relevant human effects that one can measure.

Why did you choose UNESCO-IHE for your studies?
Unlike some of my fellow students, I wasn't referred here by a company or an alumni. I found and chose it myself. The diversity of water related programmes at UNESCO-IHE was for sure one of my major motivations. Students even have the option to tailor their program by choosing their modules according to their interests. Flexibility is an asset that exists within UNESCO-IHE.

What do you plan to do after here?
Preferably I want to enrol in a PhD program upon my graduation. I don’t know where yet but I am willing to take any good opportunity, perhaps I will even stay here! I am flexible about going back home. I would like to apply what I have learned at home but I would also like to see what other opportunities arise.

How was the social aspect of Delft?
Social and cultural events made it easy to integrate. Senior students from last year introduced us to the program and life here. I met students from so many countries. Students get together often determined by region of origin and we had wonderful evenings, like Asian Night, Euro-American Night, etc.

Would you recommend UNESCO IHE?
Of course on the strength of choice of study, great academic staff and the many visiting lecturers some well-known in their fields who attend the lectures. It was an all-encompassing and complete experience that would benefit anyone interested in water management or other water related fields of study.
