UNESCO Co-Sponsors On-Line Learning Conference in Thailand

17-10-2002 (Paris)
On-Line Learning has great potential to shape education, but questions remain as to how it will look, how it will be organised and managed, and what impact it will have. These issues will be discussed at an International Conference organized by the Far Eastern College, the Thai National Education Commission (ONEC) and UNESCO in Chiang Mai, Thailand, next January.
The Conference entitled "On-Line Learning in a Digital World in Post-Secondary and Higher Education" (15-18 January 2003) will look at current on-line programmes and investigate what software has been developed for on-line learning, what hardware is required and what financial commitment is necessary.

The Conference, aimed at all those involved and interested in on-line learning, will also offer presentations and demonstrations of On-Line Learning in practice and discuss issues of quality assurance and the role of the teacher in a digital world.
