Topic
Fostering the knowledge creation and sharing dynamics between Brazilian water operatorsSummary of the Research
This project aims to develop methodologies, tools and guidelines to improve the partnerships between Brazilian water operators. The focus will be on public companies or companies with mixed economy, as they are the majority of the water operators in Brazil. The efficient and shared management of water is very relevant. Considering this context, this research is justified as an opportunity of development for water operators, using the competences already available within the country. The research will be developed with the support of the main institute for capacity development in water, UNESCO-IHE, and GWOPA (Global Water Operators Partnerships Alliance), part of UN-HABITAT to control the network of water operators in the world. The general objective is to create a methodology to foster knowledge sharing between water operators. The specific objectives are: to analyse, based on the Dynamic Framework proposed for this project, the knowledge dynamics at four water operators in Brazil; to analyse the dynamics of the international partnerships between water operators in the case of CAESB and SABESP; to identify partnerships going on between water operators in Brazil and to describe the dynamics of those partnerships.
