Curriculum and teacher policies affect teaching and learning processes and outcomes. Standardizing teacher qualifications and harmonizing teacher training programs require that national curriculum and teacher policies are synchronized and that teacher training is in line with curriculum reforms. This Guide will provide fundamental concepts relating to curriculum framework and through a range of training activities, exploring:
It will undergo an external review by 15 selected international experts (teacher educators, curriculum experts, policy makers and UNESCO staff) at a meeting that will be held at UNESCO headquarters from 21 to 23 October 2015. Once finalised and released, the Guide will be part of the IBE series of “Training Tools for Curriculum Development”, which aim to strengthen the capacities of actors involved in the development and provision of quality education. It may also be used as a “stand-alone” training tool for countries wishing to explore the concepts of a curriculum framework and to improve teacher education through the application of this “framework” approach.
