Coordination and support activities for Member States in the Europe and North America region

The activity shall, at a regional level, target the objectives set up by the World Heritage Centre as a whole. Sustained support shall be provided to Member States for the identification, protection, monitoring and sustainable management of World Heritage. Three main sub-activities shall be implemented: firstly monitoring the state of conservation of properties, secondly coordinating and providing desk support for Periodic Reporting including the process of retrospective Statements of Outstanding Universal Value, and thirdly providing support in the "upstream process" for nominated pilot sites. Extrabudgetary support shall be crucial for an effective implementation of this activity.
