In 1980, at its 21st Session, the General Conference approved the creation of the Executive Committee of the International Campaign for the establishment of the Nubia Museum in Aswan and the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization in Cairo. The mission of that Committee is to advise the Director-General on all questions related to the campaign.
