ICTs for Intercultural Dialogue : Developing communication capacities for indigenous peoples -Ongoing
ICT4IDThe ICT4ID aims at preserving indigenous peoples' cultural resources, which are endangered by the globalization process. By fostering access to communication means and technologies, the project helps in closing the digital divide between the rest of the world and the indigenous communities. The use of ICTs is intended to contribute in the revitalization of the indigenous peoples' identity and the recovery of their dignity, therefore promoting cultural pluralism. Moreover, the training to be provided by this project to the indigenous communities is seen to open up new opportunities for traditional and innovative income-generating activities.

At least five indigenous communities from Africa, Asia and Latin America will be provided ICT training for indigenous content development, products of which will be launched at local television, radio and new media and also for international exposure.

Visit the ICT4ID Website for more information.
