Science, Technology and Innovation: Critical means of implementation for the SDGs
Many countries have experienced the transformative effect of STI and there is broad consensus that, if properly managed, STI can be a game-changer and accelerator of global development. However, the question remains, how can we harness this power for the benefit of all, particularly the most vulnerable and marginalised?
This subject will be the focus of the upcoming Round Table on “Science, Technology and Innovation: Critical Means of Implementation for the SDGs” on 23 April, 2015, at the United Nations Headquarters.
The discussion will take place with members of the Secretary General’s Scientific Advisory Board.
Ms Flavia Schlegel, Assistant Director-General for Natural Sciences of UNESCO, will moderate; Ms Silvia Montoya, Director of the UNESCO Institute for Statistics, and Mr Guido Schmidt-Traub, Executive Director, Sustainable Development Solutions Network, will provide additional comments on the discussion.
