“TV training and co-production on the Preservation of the Cultural Heritage in the South East Europe” workshop held in Ohrid, Macedonia, from 18-19 March, 2009, gathered 25 journalists and news editors from the culture departments and Eurovision news desks from all 11 ERNO member Public Service Broadcasters and Turkish Radio Television (TRT). The training was implemented under the supervision of the European Commission. The aim of the training was raising awareness and improving the knowledge about, first of all, the culture heritage preservation in the SEE, and secondly, about the best possible way to prepare and produce stories on the most important material and non-material culture heritage issues in the SEE region and Turkey. This training was also a crucial step towards broadening of the already successful news exchange network cooperation by opening it to other programme contents at the ERNO members regional Public TV Stations, in this case towards the close cooperation between the culture departments at the regional PSBs. This contributes to better flow of information among the countries in the region out of the official news, stimulating better knowledge and regional perspective on the cultural heritage preservation issues and events important for the whole SEE region.
