Mr Indrajit Banerjee is the Director of the Knowledge Societies Division, Communication and Information Sector of UNESCO. Mr Banerjee is an expert on the social impact of information and communication technologies, internationally recognized media and communications scholar and has edited ten books and published articles in some of the top international journals in the field of communications. He has also presented papers at over 50 international conferences around the world. Mr. Banerjee was the Secretary-General of the Asian Media Information and Communication Centre (AMIC) in Singapore until his appointment as the Chief of Section, ICT in Education, Science and Culture at the Communication and Information sector of UNESCO.
