Mr Anirban Sarma is a National Officer, UNESCO Office in New Delhi. Mr Sarma is designing and managing UNESCO’s projects on ICT for development and capacity-building of the media, across Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal and Sri Lanka. He is also working at the policy and programme levels to achieve the Communication and Information sector’s strategic objectives; preparing proposals, budgets and concept papers for collaborative projects with national Governments, NGOs, development agencies, the private sector, and professional associations. He is conducting research and analysis for UN/Government reports, development frameworks, policy papers and programme documents; activating and growing the Open Knowledge Community (a joint initiative of UNESCO and the Ministry of Communications and IT, Government of India).
