Ms Revathy Rugmini is the Regional Representative for Asia for Leonard Cheshire Disability (LCD). She is responsible for all operations in the nine countries, where LCD works in South and East Asia including managing relationships with Government ministries and corporations. As Regional Representative, Ms Rugmini leads one of LCD’s flagship programmes, entitled ‘Access to Livelihoods’, in partnership with Accenture. This programme supports people with disabilities in India, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh and the Philippines to access better and more diverse livelihoods opportunities.

Ms Rugmini has 22 years’ experience in the development sector. Prior to joining LCD, she has worked with bilateral and multilateral organizations, State and National Governments in providing technical support for implementing livelihood and social development programmes. Ms Rugmini has also providing leadership in measuring impact through participatory approaches in education, health, livelihoods, water and sanitation and other development programmes. Revathy has been instrumental in establishing and strengthening the community based model of poverty reduction in Kerala state. This model has won global recognition and forms part of the poverty alleviation strategy of the India national government.
