Mr Abdul Waheed Khan, Assistant Director-General for Communication and Information, UNESCO and Mr Jun-Yeong Choi, President of the Korea Polytechnic University signed the Letter for Appropriation for the implementation of the project "Advancing Tomorrow's Leaders for Achieving Sustainable Economy (ATLASE) through ICTs in Developing Countries" in order to prepare tomorrow's leaders in information and communication technologies (ICTs).


The main goal of the project is to train students from developing countries in Africa and other regions under KPU’s 5 year university programme in the following areas: Free Open Source Software (FOSS) engineering, Development of Open Education Resources (OER), Development of mobile media technologies, Application of information security technologies, Game and multimedia engineering, E-learning technologies and others.
