Within the framework of its regional activities commemorating World Press Freedom Day, the UNESCO Office in Quito has published a comic book illustrating the main principles and concepts of freedom of expression and press freedom.

Entitled Libertad de expresión, the comic book consists of 36 illustrated pages and aims to explain complex freedom of expression concepts in an accessible, easy-to-understand language. Available in print and online, the book is targeting youth and teenagers and is being distributed to schools throughout Latin America, with the assistance of the National Commissions, UNESCO Associated Schools and civil society networks.
