Launched this month, “Expedition Poetry” is the first major inter-city cooperation between the Creative Cities of Literature of Heidelberg and Prague. The “Osip Mandelstam: Word and Destiny” book is the fruit of the very first collaboration between the Creative Cities of Literature of Heidelberg and Granada, in cooperation with the State Literary Museum of Moscow. This joint-project has been initiated in the framework of the 125th anniversary of the birth of the Russian poet Osip Mandelstam, who was one of the foremost members of the Acmeist school of poets. The book is available in a bilingual version, in German and Spanish.
From 24th to 29th June, the sub-network meeting of the UNESCO creative cities of literature brought together representatives of Dublin (Ireland), Iowa City (United States), Krakow (Poland), Melbourne (Australia), Norwich (UK), Prague (Czech Republic), Reykjavik (Iceland) and of the creative city of music of Mannheim (Germany) in Heidelberg (Germany). The participants shared their opinions on issues related to the future of the sub-Network. For instance: the Network organization, future inter-city activities, support for new member cities…etc.
