In 2004, when Humaira Habib was threatened by authorities and told she could never again work as a journalist in Afghanistan's western province of Herat, close to Iran, she fought for her rights and became director of Radio Sahar in the province's capital city. Having recently spent ten months as a Sauve Scholar at McGill University in Montreal (Canada), Humaira has now returned to Herat and to her job as radio station director.
