For the past three years, Safya Saifi has been working as a photographer with Pajhwok Afghan News, Afghanistan’s first independent news agency. Thanks to the work of dedicated team members like Safya, Pajhwok Afghan News was awarded the Committee to Protect Journalists’ prestigious International Press Freedom award in 2008. Safya’s goal is to document the lives of Afghan women and children. Her photographs of Dr. Sima Samar and Fatima Gailani are included in this exhibition.
