Photo illustrating Farquharson’s Journal, a handwritten diary by Charles Farquharson, planter, and owner of the Prospect Hill Plantation, which grew cotton, located on the east side of Watlings Island (now known as San Salvador) is a journal recording the day-to-day happening on the plantation from 1 January, 1831 to 31 December, 1832. Charles Farquharson’s manuscript is unique. It is the only plantation journal discovered in The Bahamas.
