Background:
Often disabled young
people do not feel included in society.
The activities planned
as part of this project seek to bring together
a diverse group of young people to help integrate
disabled youth into society in a festive environment.
Objectives:
- To help the disabled youth
feel part of our society
- To give the disabled youth
the opportunity to engage with other young people
- To give young people the
chance to participate in different types of games
and other activities
- To give young people the
chance to develop their hidden talents
- To give young people the
opportunity to celebrate Christmas together in
a diverse group
Activities:
- Together with the Ministry of Youth and Sports
and other youth organizations, plan and hold a
day of recreational games and activities, coinciding
with Christmas celebrations, for a minimum of
100 youth, especially including disabled youth
- Provide transport, decorations,
refreshments, prizes and gifts for the event.
- Evaluate the impact of
the activity by asking a minimum of 50 participants
to complete an evaluation form at the end of the
day; and report on the results of the evaluation.
- Provide UNESCO with photographs
and at least 60 minutes video footage of the activity.
- Publicise the activity
through local radio, television and newspapers.
- Investigate and report
on ways of making the activity an annual event,
possibly with local support.
