Stakeholder engagement in the FfD process
The Financing for Development Office, in its multi-stakeholder approach, is dedicated to support and facilitate the participation of all stakeholders in the Financing for Development process.
Civil society and business sector
Civil society and business sector organizations have been involved in the Financing for Development process, from the outset, by providing important inputs, expertise and proposals to the intergovernmental deliberations.
Stakeholder work streams
The General Assembly has recognized the work of the Financing for Development Office in organizing, within its mandate, workshops, multi-stakeholder consultations, panel discussions and other activities aimed at better enabling member countries to implement their commitments as agreed in the financing for development outcomes, and requested the Office, in collaboration with experts from the public and private sectors, academia and civil society, to continue its work in this area.
A rich programme of multi-stakeholder consultations was carried out in follow up to the Monterrey and Doha Conferences. Responding to the demand and interest from various stakeholders, Financing for Development Office has re-launched its “Stakeholder work streams” focusing on selected issues from the Addis Agenda. The first area of focus is “Strengthening Municipal Finance“.
