Radio has great potential as a medium of education and social inclusion, especially in rural areas and among women, children and the disabled. Community Radio Madanpokhara was established in April 2000 in Nepal's Palpa District. The station is a frequent venue for meetings between local community members and visitors interested in the idea of village radio.
