奥林匹亚考古遗址

奥林匹亚遗址位于伯罗奔尼撒半岛的山谷，自史前时代以来就有人居住。公元前10世纪，奥林匹亚成了人们敬拜宙斯的一个中心。众神之圣地——阿尔提斯(Altis) ，是希腊建筑杰作最集中的地方。除了庙宇之外，这里还保留着专供奥运会使用的各种体育设施。早在公元前776年，人们就每四年在奥林匹亚举行一次奥运会。
