	Artist's profile Born in London, England, spent his childhood in Patna, Bihar. When he was an adolescent, his family emigrated to the United States. Uday trained as an architect at Columbia University, but also took art classes at the School of Visual Art in New York and at the Hochschule der Bildende Kunst when he lived in Berlin. Uday received a prestigious grant from the Jackson Pollock- Lee Krasner Foundation in 2005, and was in residence at Yaddo in Saratogo Springs, New York, The Macdowell Colony In Peterborough, New Hampshire, and the Weir Farm Art Center, Connecticut, all in 2006. Uday has exhibited in Berlin, Germany, Budapest Hungary, London ,England, and in New York.
