United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon today announced the appointment of Natalia Kanem of Panama as Assistant Secretary-General and Deputy Executive Director (Programme) of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA). She succeeds Kate Gilmore of Australia, to whom the Secretary-General is grateful for her dedicated service and commitment to the Organization.
On 15 July 2016, members of the Security Council Committee established pursuant to resolution 2206 (2015) concerning South Sudan were briefed by the Coordinator of the Panel of Experts on South Sudan in connection with the Panel’s work programme.
United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon today announced the appointment of Major General Mohammad Humayun Kabir of Bangladesh as Force Commander of the United Nations Peacekeeping Force in Cyprus (UNFICYP).
