The "Treaty of the Sun" / Risala aš-šamsiya by Nagm ad-Din al-Kat (died around/after 1276) is considered to be one of the most important works about logics in Arab language. Accordingly it was often commented by later authors. The comment by Qutb ad-Din Muhammad ar-Razi at-Tahtani (died 1364 A.D.) was particularly wide spread.

The first work in the manuscript Glaser no. 164 was written by Burhan ad-Din Ibn Hamid (al-Bulgari) and is entitled Kitab sarh hutba sarh as-samsiya li-l-Qutb. It is a comment to the comment by Tahtani mentioned above. The following two works are anonymous comments to the “Treaty of the Sun” or to Tahtani’s comment.

The Codex further contains several small treaties about Islamic dogmatics or logics.
