Geneva, Switzerland (UNOSDP) – The International Conference Centre of Geneva today became a networking hub for organizations seeking cooperation on sport for development and peace projects.

Geneva, Switzerland (UNOSDP) – The Special Adviser to the United Nations Secretary-General on Sport for Development and Peace, Wilfried Lemke, has been reappointed to his role for a further year by the UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon. 

New York (Office of the Spokesperson for the Secretary-General) — The Secretary-General was honoured to learn about the decision by the International Olympic Committee to award the Olympic Cup to the United Nations.  He is pleased to receive it on behalf of the Organization.    

Geneva, Switzerland (UNOSDP) – Human rights experts, United Nations officials, European Union diplomats and students of the Geneva Academy were joined by a World Cup winner Christian Karembeu today on a football pitch at the Palais des Nations for a symbolic tournament against racism and discrimination.

Geneva, Switzerland (UNOSDP) - On December 7th his Royal Highness Prince William, The Duke of Cambridge, was accompanied by Mr Wilfried Lemke, Special Advisor to the United Nations Secretary-General on Sport for Development and Peace, and Kashif Siddiqi, Co-Founder of Football for Peace, supporting the “City for Peace” Initiative in Birmingham, run by Football for Peace Global.
