AWARENESS-RAISING AND TRAINING FOR A BETTER UNDERSTANDING OF THE COMMUNICATION CODE

On completion of the training, discussions, debates and analyses provided for in the 1-day programme, the 240 male and female journalists will have acquired the skills and resources required to understand and apply the Communication Code

INTERREGIONAL: STRENGTHENING FREEDOM OF THE MEDIA: EVALUATING THE VALUES, PRACTICES AND ATTITUDES OF NEWS EDITORS WITH REGARD TO JOURNALISM SAFETY AND IMPUNITY IN MEXICO, PAKISTAN, BULGARIA, TURKEY, INDIA AND THE DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF CONGO.

 In this project CFOM will interview news editors/senior journalists of news organisations (see C Additional Information below) in six countries where press freedom is constrained and where editors could therefore be expected to have a greater interest in combating threats to journalists and ensuring safe reporting than in countries where the press is relatively free and journalists generally operate in a safe environment. CAPACITY BUILDING OF JOURNALISTS FROM RWANDAN EDUCATION JOURNALISTS NETWORK IN SPECIALISED EDUCATIONAL JOURNALISM

Strengthening Media and Civil Society Capacity on Gender Equality through Beijing Plus Twenty and the post 2015 agenda.

The Global Alliance on Media and Gender (GAMAG) steering committee has identified capacity building as one of the key inputs to the effectiveness of the Alliance. GAMAG is a network of media organisations working together to advance the strategic objections of the section J of the Beijing Platform for Action (BPFA). STRENGTHENING THE CAPACITY OF THE SOMALILAND JOURNALIST ASSOCIATION TO ENHANCE FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION AND PRESS FREEDOM

GENDER AND DIVERSITY MEDIA POLICY TOOLKIT

The proposed project, Gender and Diversity Media Policy Toolkit, will promote the success stories in diversity and inclusion media management and guide media organisations across continents to implement tried and tested tools for successful gender equality policies in media.

CAPACITY BUILDING OF JOURNALISTS ON PEACE JOURNALISM IN NORTHERN UGANDA

The project will target 80 practicing journalists comprising of radio managers, citizen journalists, radio presenters and talkshow hosts from Gulu, Lira, Kitgum, Soroti and Arua districts. Participants attending the training will comprise of 50% women and 50% males.The project will contribute to promoting good governance and transparency by building professional capacities in peace journalism in Uganda.

Support to Liberia Media Response to Ebola Crisis

The Press Union of Liberia proposes that this project should benefit 25 journalists working with Community Radio stations in 5 counties in the rural parts of Liberia. The stations will themselves receive equipment that will strengthen their capacity to cover Ebola and other health challenges
