On August 2014, the Paraguayan law on access to public information was passed. Our institution – IDEA- has been leading efforts towards this goal for 8 years: a process that at times could not to see a light at the end of the tunnel, and required a significant investment in terms of time and funds.

This project aims to promote gender equality and women’s empowerment through print media and television. It will provide training to individuals from the press, radio, television, journalists’ associations and universities in order to encourage these organizations to adopt practices and policies that focus on gender equality.

This project aims to promote social, political and economic participation of women in society by fostering the generation of adequate information for community radio programming, using a rights-based approach that reflects a true and valued image of women and unmasks the power relations between men and women. Thanks to its position and experience, Radio Nacional del Paraguay (RNP) is best suited to train community radio broadcasters on a regular basis. Jaku'éke Paraguay is an independent Information Agency for youth that was created in June 2002 by radio FM Trinidad. The news agency, which is located in the facilities of FM Trinidad, currently employs 5 youth correspondents and relies as well on 3 community volunteers and 10 volunteer correspondents from the interior of the country. Its main goals are to involve youths in social debate and to promote their participation in the communication media.
