How can the ICT CFT be used?

The ICT CFT provides a framework through which capacity building for ICT integration in teaching and learning can be developed.

What can be done with the Modular structure of the Framework?

The Framework can be used in a modular fashion. Possible methodology can be to use it on the basis of 3 rationales:

  • Rationale of breadth – all the modules for one approach
  • Rationale of depth – use of the same module in each approach
  • Role rationale – selection of modules which are relevant to certain roles (e.g. technology coordinators, principals, teacher trainers, etc.)

How does UNESCO support Member States in implementing the ICT CFT?

UNESCO can accompany Member States upon request in their application of the ICT CFT to develop national competency standards for teachers linking the ICT CFT to broader interventions in the framework of national ICT policy frameworks. UNESCO can also support Member States to contextualize the ICT CFT at the institutional and/or governmental level (based on national contexts) and harness the  use of open educational resources (teaching/learning resources available for use/re-use and adaptation provided through open licenses) for the implementation of teacher training activities based on the Framework.

Where has the ICT CFT been implemented to date, and where can I find more information on this?

How can the learning from the ICT CFT be recognized?

Implementing institutions can choose to include the courses developed in the framework of the ICT CFT for their own use as part of courses offered through their own accredited institutions and in such a manner the course can be part of an established degree/certification granting programme.

What are some innovative ways that materials for ICT CFT implementation have been developed?

The use of open educational resources (teaching/learning resources available for use/re-use and adaptation provided through open licenses) have been used for materials development to support the implementation of the ICT CFT at the national level in the Caribbean. This has proven to be a very cost effective and innovative manner to implement the Framework.
