Second Regional Seminar for Training of Trainers in Bioethics

© World Bank / Lipszyc

The Second Regional Seminar for Training of Trainers in Bioethics will take place in Guatemala City from 20 to 23 September 2016.

The seminar is organized by UNESCO's Bioethics and Ethics of Science Regional Program (UNESCO Office in Montevideo), in cooperation with the UNESCO Office in Guatemala and the University of San Carlos of Guatemala. Teachers, working on education in bioethics for undergraduate and graduate programs, will be trained to create educative programs (goals, educative methodology, contents selection, and programs’ evaluation). The training will offer methodological tools for education in bioethics (deliberative method, problem-posing concept, case studies, teaching based on problems, etc.) and also specific strategies, such as ICTs and art at different levels.

Introductory themes will be included to expand the disciplinary model of bioethics and educative contents, such as the human rights based approach, and environmental and social themes.

This is a unique opportunity for training and exchange between participants and renowned international bioethicists around key issues for education in bioethics.

Deadline for registration: 2 June 2016.
