      Nauru joined UNESCO on 17 October 1996. The country is covered by the UNESCO Office in Apia, Samoa. Nauru is home to one UNEVOC centre.

      As of September 2006, the country has 6 schools participating in UNESCO’s Associated Schools Project Network (ASPnet).
