At Americas Summit in Panama, Ban urges nations to pursue prosperity with equality

United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, in an address in Panama to the seventh Summit of the Americas, commended the hemisphere's commitment to peace, democracy, human rights and sustainable development, while urging leaders to continue to pursue a future of prosperity with equality, where no one is left behind.

Over 100 mayors adopt declaration to combat climate change, support sustainable cities

More than 100 Mayors and elected leaders have committed to making their cities sustainable with the adoption of the “Seoul Declaration,” which was adopted today during the ICLEI (Local Governments for Sustainability) World Congress in the capital city of the Republic of Korea.

The 7-point Seoul Declaration commits signatories to “innovative and transformative sustainable urban development.”
