Movable Heritage and Museums
The past of the people living in the territories of today’s GCC Countries was determined by moving and constant change. The desert lifestyle meant that entire tribes were constantly moving in search for water and a better life. There are many remains from the past, and their value is enormous. These movable heritage items and museums help us understand the past, as well as the customs, traditions, and the cultural heritage from the tribes who lived here. These are valuable lessons, and the UNESCO Doha office is a strong advocate for protecting the safeguarding of these movable heritage and museums in the countries of the region.
