Annual decolonization events: Registration contacts

Annual Regional Seminar - May

Individuals or civil society organizations wishing to participate at their own expense in the annual three-day regional Seminar regarding the Non-Self-Governing Territories inscribed under the Declaration on the Granting of Independence to Colonial Countries and Peoples (American Samoa, Anguilla, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Falkland Islands (Malvinas)*, French Polynesia, Gibraltar, Guam, Montserrat, New Caledonia, Pitcairn, St. Helena, Tokelau, Turks and Caicos Islands, United States Virgin Islands and Western Sahara), usually held in the second half of May, should submit in good time a written request to the Chair of the Special Committee on Decolonization (C-24) via the Committee Secretary, Ms Jullyette Ukabiala (ukabiala@un.org).

C-24 substantive session - June

Individuals or civil society organizations wishing to address at their own expense the yearly C-24 sessions in June as petitioners regarding the Non-Self-Governing Territories inscribed under the Declaration on the Granting of Independence to Colonial Countries and Peoples (American Samoa, Anguilla, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Falkland Islands (Malvinas)*, French Polynesia, Gibraltar, Guam, Montserrat, New Caledonia, Pitcairn, St. Helena, Tokelau, Turks and Caicos Islands, United States Virgin Islands and Western Sahara) should send in good time a written request to the C-24 Chair via the Committee Secretary, Ms. Jullyette Ukabiala (ukabiala@un.org).

General Assembly Special Political and Decolonization Committee (Fourth Committee) - October

Individuals or civil society organizations wishing to address at their own expense the Special Political and Decolonization Committee (Fourth Committee) of the General Assembly in October as petitioners regarding the Non-Self-Governing Territories inscribed under the Declaration on the Granting of Independence to Colonial Countries and Peoples (American Samoa, Anguilla, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Falkland Islands (Malvinas)*, French Polynesia, Gibraltar, Guam, Montserrat, New Caledonia, Pitcairn, St. Helena, Tokelau, Turks and Caicos Islands, United States Virgin Islands and Western Sahara) should send a written request addressed to the Chair of the Fourth Committee for the seventieth session of the General Assembly c/o the Fourth Committee Secretary, Ms. Sonia Elliott, and CC 4thCommittee@un.org or fax (1) 212-963-5305, no later than 25 September 2015.


*A dispute exists between the Governments of Argentina and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland concerning sovereignty over the Falkland Islands (Malvinas) (see ST/CS/SER.A/42).
