Finalization of draft national program for a culture of peace in Mali

From 30th June to 1st July 2016, the UNESCO Office in Bamako holds a technical workshop in Mali to finalize the draft national program for a culture of peace in Mali

In order to contribute to the promotion of the culture of peace, UNESCO Office in Bamako in collaboration with the Ministry of National Reconciliation is organizing from 30th June to 1st July 2016, a technical workshop for finalizing the national program for a culture of peace in Mali. The opening ceremony was chaired by the Secretary General of the Ministry of National Reconciliation, Mr. Attaher Ag Iknan. He had at his side, Mr. Firmin Edouard Matoko, Assistant Director-General for Africa at UNESCO, Mrs. Coumba Toure Sangare, General Secretary of the Malian Commission for UNESCO, Mr. Oumar Keita, Ambassador and Permanent Delegate of Mali to UNESCO, the heads of UNESCO Offices in Bamako and Abidjan, experts from various ministries, representatives of civil society and the UN system.

During two days of workshop, the exchanges will result in the consolidation of proposal of project document on the national program for a culture of peace in Mali, which will allow to contact various donors for its funding. This finalized document established by the experts, will be officially transmitted to the Malian government, to consider its national approval.
