Ms Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, President of Liberia, visits UNESCO Headquarters - (6 March 2006)
Paris, 6 March 2006 --The President of Liberia, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, the first woman to be elected president of an African country, opens an international conference entitled Women in Politics organized by UNESCO within the framework of the celebration of International Women’s Day on 8 March. The celebration includes several events from 6 to 30 March at the Organization’s Headquarters under the general heading Women and Decision-Making. Read Ms Johnson Sirleaf's speech. See the VIDEO.
