International Conference on Women’s Leadership for Sustainable Development (Haifa, Israel, 19-22 November 2007) 50 women of all continents : Ministers, Members of Parliament, senior actors in civil society, academia, media, the private sector, international and regional organizations met to discuss women's taking leadership for sustainable development.
Final Declaration adopted.

This high level Conference was organised by The Golda Meïr Center (Golda Meir Mount Carmel International Training Center (MCTC)) and the and the MASHAV Center for International Cooperation of the Foreign Ministry of Israel(MASHAV), in cooperation with UNESCO.
The Conference hosted 50 women leaders, active at the senior policy-making level, from regions around the world. Participants will represent a wide array of backgrounds – Ministers, Members of Parliament, High Court Judges, as well as senior actors in civil society, academia, media, the private sector and in international and regional organizations.
The conference examined and undertook a critical analysis of the role played by women leaders in the process towards sustainable development. Focus has been placed on government policies, as well as on programs designed by international agencies and NGOs which have an impact on gender equality for socio-economic development. The Conference discussed and examined strategies to enhance the participation of women leaders in development policy.
