International Forum on Expanding the Role of Women in Cross-cultural Dialogue (Baku, Azerbaikan) 10-11 June 2008
Organized under the initiative of Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva, First Lady of the Republic of Azerbaijan, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador the Forum is co-sponsored by UNESCO and ISESCO.
 
The objective of this first International Forum is to explore how women can assume a greater role in breaking down stereotypes that exist among various cultures and help build tolerance within individual cultures and across what many see as impassable cultural divides.

Participants will consider a number of actions that can be undertaken regionally and locally to promote greater understanding among peoples.

At the close of the Forum, Participants will also be invited to adopt a declaration on future steps to be taken by women in the world.
