帕哈尔普尔的佛教毗诃罗遗址

这个遗址又称作大寺院(Somapura Mahavira), 是7世纪大乘佛教在孟加拉兴起的见证，一直到12世纪以前都是著名的文化中心。这座寺院的设计完美地满足了举行宗教仪式的需要，体现出非凡卓绝的艺术成就。寺院简单和谐的线条，加上大量的雕刻装饰，对佛教建筑发展有着深远影响，影响力甚至远及柬埔寨。
