  • Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva, the First Lady of Azerbaijan, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador and the President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation meets with the Director-General of UNESCO, Mrs Irina Bokova

    14-05-2010 2:40 pm Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva, First Lady of Azerbaijan, UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador and President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, met with the Director-General of UNESCO, Mrs Irina Bokova at UNESCO Headquarters on 28 April 2010.

    During this meeting, Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva and Mrs Irina Bokova discussed the ways of promoting UNESCO’s projects and activities especially in the field of education and culture.

    Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva was designated as UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador on 9 September 2004 in recognition of her actions to promote traditional music, literature and poetry, her role in the promotion of musical education and international cultural exchanges and her dedication to the Organization's ideals.
