2008 Celebrations

 

This year, the Division for Gender Equality of the Bureau of Strategic Planning organized a series of events, which drew attention to key gender-related contemporary themes. In tandem with a Round Table titled “Gender Equality – Make it Your Business.”, UNESCO presented a number of colorful and innovative exhibitions that paid tribute to women’s participation in fields as varied as peace building, filmmaking, and the fine arts. International Round Table "GENDER EQUALITY – MAKE IT YOUR BUSINESS" - (UNESCO - BSP/GE) UNESCO HQ, Paris, 10 March 2008 The theme of this year’s International Round Table, “Gender Equality: Make it Your Business!” was based on the United Nations’ official theme for International Women’s Day 2008: “Investing in Women and Girls.”
