Launch of the Gender Summary of the EFA GMR 2015 at a side event during the General Conference.
The main messages and recommendations contained within the new Report, ‘Gender and EFA 2000-2015: Achievements and Challenges’, will be presented to the core participants taking part in the High Level Panel that day on the Framework for Action for Education 2030. The event will highlight UNESCO's role in championing girls' education, and the role gender will play in the new post-2015 education framework. Participants will discuss how to broaden the focus from gender parity to gender equality from 2015-2030, and which policies have proved successful in challenging gender stereotypes, and overcoming discriminatory gender norms at the national level.
