To celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of UNESCO’s water programmes and the fortieth anniversary of the International Hydrological Programme (IHP), the IHP Secretariat organizes a commemorative event during the General Conference on 9 November 2015, from 13:10 to 14:10. A light lunch will be provided to all participants.

During this event, a panel of regional representatives will share their views with the audience about the impact of UNESCO’s water programmes in their regions over the past fifty years, as well as their vision for the future of their collaboration with IHP. The event will help IHP strengthen its role for the Member States in addressing water-related challenges and implementing the water-related goals of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

The event will be live-streamed, using the following link: mms://stream.unesco.org/live/room_2_floor.wmv. English, French and Spanish translation will be provided.
