In the framework of the Project "Caucasus", Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania, welcomed from 3 to 8 June 2003, artists and specialists of culture from South Caucasus and Baltic Countries, for an intercultural week on the theme "Dialogue among Civilizations"

This event was organized by the Lithuanian National Commission for UNESCO in cooperation with the Culture Sector of UNESCO, Division of Cultural Policies and Intercultural Dialogue, the UNESCO Office in Moscow, the Council of Europe (Project STAGE), and the Ministries of Culture and the National Commissions of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Estonia and Latvia. This cultural week included round tables gathering writers, editors and specialists in various fields of culture, concerts of traditional music, photography and book exhibitions and cinema. It allowed not only for formal and informal cultural regional and interregional exchanges between artists and specialists of culture and the presentation of the cultural richness of the South Caucasus Countries to Lithuanian society with a view to promote intercultural dialogue but, above all, for the elaboration of a series of important recommendations for the UNESCO Project "Caucasus" and the development of a cultural cooperation between Baltic and South Caucasus countries.
