20/05/2015 - Resolution 3. MSP 9 - States Parties to the UNESCO 1970 Convention 

The Third Meeting of States Parties to the 1970 Convention on the Means of Prohibiting and Preventing the Illicit Import, Export and Transfer of Ownership of Cultural Property strongly condemns the deliberate destruction of cultural heritage in Iraq, Syria and Libya and highlights the obligation of all State Parties to urgently implement the provisions in paragraphs 15 to 17 of the United Nations Security Council Resolution 2199, in reference to the cultural heritage at risk in Iraq and Syria.

14/05/2015 - Cairo Declaration

The Cairo Declaration was signed at the end of an emergency ministerial meeting titled 'Culture Under Threat: The Security, Economic and Cultural Impact of Antiquities Theft in the Middle East.' The Declaration was signed by ten countries from the MENA region and outlines a regional plan that the countries will take together to prevent the war crime of looting and the destruction of heritage.

30/04/2015 - 2015/2649(RSP) - European Parliament
Title: Resolution on the destruction of cultural sites perpetrated by ISIL
The EU Parliament passed a resolution calling for EU Member States to develop awareness raising campaigns to discourage the purchase and sale of cultural goods. The resolution asks for strong actions to be taken to disrupt the illegal trade of cultural goods coming from illicit trade from war areas.

21/04/2015 - Decision 196 EX/29 - UNESCO Executive Board
Title: Culture in conflict areas: a humanitarian concern and a safety issue. UNESCO’s role and responsibilities
The 196th Executive Board of UNESCO condemned the continuing, deliberate attacks against the cultural heritage of Iraq, Syria and Libya and recognized that the illicit traffic of cultural objects may be financing terrorism.

12/02/2015 - S/RES/2199 - UN Security Council
Title: Threats to international peace and security caused by terrorist acts
Security Council Resolution 219, condemns the destruction of cultural heritage in Iraq and Syria particularly by ISIL and ANF. The resolution also notes that ISIL, ANF and other groups are engaging directly or indirectly in the looting and smuggling of cultural heritage items and the SC reaffirms their decision to prohibit the trade in Iraq and Syrian Cultural Property.

Title: Protection of Iraqi Cultural Heritage
The 195th session of UNESCO's Executive Board condemned the destruction of Iraq's cultural heritage and condemned attacks on the country's cultural diversity and on the practices, representations, and expressions that Iraqi groups and communities recognize as their cultural heritage.

Title: Threats to international peace and security caused by terrorist acts
Security Council Resolution 2170 reiterates the Security Council's condemnation of ISIL, ANF and all other individuals, groups, undertakings and entities associated with Al-Qaida for ongoing and multiple criminal terrorist acts aimed at destruction of property and of cultural and religious sites, and greatly undermining stability.

Title: Situation between Iraq and Kuwait 
Security Council Resolution 1483 stresses the need for respect for the archaelogical, historical, cultural, and religious heritage of Iraq, and for the continued protection of archaeological, historical, cultural, and religious sites, museums, libraries, and monuments.
