Ratification by South Soudan of the Convention concerning the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage (Paris, 16 November 1972)

On 9 March 2016, South Soudan deposited with the Director-General the instrument of ratification of the Convention concerning the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage.

The instrument contained the following declaration:

“The Republic of South Sudan shall not be bound by the provisions of paragraph (1) of Article 16 with regard to contribution other than the supplementary voluntary contribution.” [Original: English]

In conformity with its Article 33, the Convention will enter into force, with respect to South Soudan, three months after the deposit of this instrument of ratification, that is to say on 9 June 2016.
