The CI Commission will consider issues related to communication and information.
In particular, the CI Commission will consider:
- Part II.A: Major Programme V of the Programme and Budget for 2008-2009,
- Draft Medium-Term Strategy for 2008-2013, and
- Draft Programme and Budget for 2010-2011 (33 C/5) in the areas of communication and information.
The agenda also includes examination of the First consolidated report to the General Conference on the measures taken by Member States for the implementation of the Recommendation concerning the promotion and Use of Multilingualism and Universal Access to Cyberspace and of the Report by the Director-General on the feasibility of the establishment of a “Regional Centre for Information and Communication Technology” in Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain, as a Category 2 Centre under the auspices of UNESCO.
