Mauritius has two cultural sites on the World Heritage List and is preparing a Tentative List for other properties it hopes to propose for inscription.

The intangible heritage constitutes another axis of cooperation between Mauritius and UNESCO.
In the framework of the Slave Route Project, Mauritius has undertaken to inventory and promote its oral traditions and to list sites and places of memory related to the slave trade.

Mauritius is preparing nomination applications for two cultural sites to be submitted to the World Heritage Committee.

With respect to crafts, the country is concentrating on the training of women.

Mauritius is one of the members of the Intergovernmental Committee of the Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions.
