The country is covered by the UNESCO Cluster Office in Rabat, Morocco.

After the adoption of the Master Agreement of the United Nations on climate change during the Conference on Environment and Sustainable Development, held in Rio in 1992, Tunisia adopted the concept of sustainable development integrating the economical, social and environmental dimensions.
