The focus of the country's contribution to the Anniversary will be on awareness-raising among people, teachers, students, and particularly the government and decision-makers, on the important role of the ocean for human life and on the place and role of the IOC.

There will be “porte ouverte” days at the Marine Science and Halieutic Institute of the University of Toliara. Exhibitions, as well as seminars, conferences and workshops will be organized. It is expected that the National Centre for Oceanographic Research will become operational again.
